So yeah, the story is Kevin and I (Paul) have been working at getting a band together since I changed from bass to guitar. First we tried playing with a guy named Garret, but that only lasted one night- I think. After that it was a while before we decided to have Luke sing for us. That didn't stick for long so we moved him to drums, but then we got BenIvey, so CLEARLY we stuck with BenIvey on drums and moved Luke again to guitar. Now, as far as the vox area was concerned, after Luke, some faggot we didnt even know tried out and we didnt like as a person or a singer, so we tried Joe Sibley and that didn't happen either. So we weren't going anywhere for a while until Luke wanted to do an open mic night at T.P. Crockmeirs. We were going to have Luke sing, but his voice went out; so we tried to get my singer from Slap Mike to help, but to no avail. Then we realized that our friend Locke could sing fairly well, so we enlisted him as the newest singer- if even for one night, but we liked him so much that we kept him as a permanent member of ManDown and we finally had our lineup of players.

Now that we had everyone, we needed original songs. So, the first thing we did was use an old song Kevin and I had in the vault (there are so many), and thus, "The Shiv" was born. Then, one practice (when Luke was still drumming), Kevin, Locke, and I decided we wanted to write a new song. Then, Luke said "Okay, Kevin... Go!" and Kevin whipped out this riff he had been working on for a while and "Spunk'd" was born from it. After that, and after BenIvey had joined, I had joined a ska band (wOOt!) and Kevin wanted to make a ska song so we created the as-of-yet untitled Ska song.

And now, since Locke is back from Australia, we're hoping to get more songs ready so we can start playing real shows sometime soon...
